Pastor Barbara Langley Patterson

Barbara Langley Patterson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Denmark, South Carolina from the age of three. She is the youngest daughter of four children born to Eliza Mae Wright and the late John W. Wright. She was educated in Denmark public school system. Upon completion of high school, she attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC, where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education in 1974. After completing her degree at Winthrop, Pastor Patterson enrolled in the masters program at SCSU, completing a Masters of Education.

First Lady/Co-Pastor Patterson received Christ at the age of 12. God saved her and filled her with the Holy Ghost. In 1974, she met and married Sterling R. Langley, Jr. and to their union three sons and one daughter were born. After the loss of her husband, she was blessed to meet and marry Pastor J.L. Patterson. To this union they now have six children, Sterling, III, Shawn, Romaine, Aaron, Kandi, and Tonya, and is the grandmother of eight grandchildren.

She proudly serves with her husband and pastor, J.L. Patterson at True Vine Temple, Orangeburg, South Carolina. She works faithfully at True Vine Temple as co-pastor, member, and serves as an administrative assistant over the auxiliaries. She has a love for music, loves working with the youth, and is dedicated to fulfilling the ministry God has blessed her with.

First Lady Patterson is a retired educator of 30 years and has pastored since 2001. She is now full time in the ministry, beside her husband. J.L. Patterson, and is dedicated to the work of the Lord. One of her favorite scriptures is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthened me.” Phil 4:13
